Guidelines for Safe and Proper Installation of Off-Grid Transfer Switch

Have qualified professionals design and install your off-grid system and transfer switch per local codes. Review the manual first. Mount the ATS on a clean, dry surface with good air circulation and ensure cables allow for strain relief. Follow safety protocols and secure AC power supplies with a lock-out tag.

Use cables meeting wire gauge standards. Verify all connections are secure to prevent overheating and fires. Do not connect the user-side neutral to ground or protective ground, and avoid connecting the protective earth (pe) wire to the neutral. After confirming steps and connections, connect to utility power, inverter, battery, and loads. Turn on the ATS master switch and check voltage and ammeter readings.
